Course description |
When you convey your new idea on information science to someone, you have to describe it in mathematical language. In this course, students are expected to acquire basic knowledge on mathematics that is needed in communication among information science professionals. |
Expected Learning |
(1) Understand basic concepts on the set theory, equivalent relation, ordering relation. (2) Understand basic concepts on algebraic systems, such as group, ring, field. See the Curriculum maps. |

Prerequisites |
This course is a basic class, and it will be a basis for more advanced courses. In addition to 30 hours that students spend in the class, students are recommended to prepare for and revise the lectures, spending the standard amount of time as specified by the University and using the lecture handouts as well as the references specified below. |
