Course description

Life phenomena related to cytoplasmic genetic factors (fungal virus, prion, etc.) involved in plant and fungal growth and growth control are discussed based on molecular genetics and biological control perspectives.

Expected Learning

Course schedule

1. Viruses and Prions of Saccharomyces cerevisiae. 2. Multiplexed Interactions: Viruses of Endophytic Fungi. 3. Molecular Basis of Symptom Expression by the Cryphonectria Hypovirus. 4. Molecular Genetics of the Viruses Infecting the Plant Pathogenic Fungus. 5. Plant genomes: the organization and expression of plant genes. 6. Plant tissue culture. 7. The improvement of crop yield and quality.
