Course description
The purpose of this lecture is to provide students with the knowledge on "comfort and amenity" and methods to evaluate degree of amenity. The lecture also has an opportunity to make suggestions for improving the amenity in living space.
This lecture specifically focuses on "the amenity of human" and introduce the subjects and indicators that feel comfortable, the case examples with comfort design, the method of comfort design, etc.
Learn together with Advanced Ecological Physiology II.
Expected Learning
Understanding the recording procedure of biological signals and behavioral indices for evaluation of amenity/comfort.
Understand the concept of human space design from the viewpoint of comfort.

1. Introduction : Definition of the comfort, amenity for human spaces
2. Approach to the amenity 1: Information processing in the sensory system
3. Approach to the amenity 2: The central nervous system
4. Approach to the amenity 3: The autonomic nervous system
5. Approach to the amenity 4: Psychological and behavioral indices
6. Record and analysis on biological signals
7. Design of amenity spaces: greening, universal design, accessibility, pictogram
8. Group work by the student :To improve the amenity on campus (investigation, presentation of the results and discussion)
9. Report assignment
Prerequisites
As same as Advanced Ecological Physiology II, this lecture is an elective subject and is one of the specialized subjects.
Students need to preview and review for an amount of time as indicated in the student guidelines of TUAT, in addition to the attendance of lecture (15 hours).

Performance of presentation and discussion (50%), report assignment (50%)
