Course description |
The objectives of the this course is understand the current international issues in water resources and aquatic environment and to gain broad knowledge and concept which can be applied for the investigation and assessment of the environmental risk associated with the inorganic as well as organic pollutants such as nutrients, pesticides and heavy metals in the aquatic environments such as streams, rivers and lakes and paddy fields. The lecture materials are prepared considering interdisciplinary approach in which students can be exposed to advanced paddy filed engineering, the fundamentals of hydrology, chemical fate and transport as well as the applications of environmental monitoring and modeling. The first half of the class lectures introduces water resource regarding environment and agriculture. The second half of the class continues with basic concept in the environmental hydrology, discussion of the environmental fate of pollutants, monitoring and modeling for aquatic pollutants. |
Expected Learning |
The pass criterion of the this course is to gain broad knowledge and concept which can be applied for water resource management, and the investigation and assessment of the environmental risk associated with the inorganic as well as organic pollutants such as nutrients, pesticides and heavy metals in the aquatic environments such as streams, rivers and lakes and paddy fields.
