Course description
This course is designed for a student to consider or conduct her/his master's thesis research in a different perspectives from her/his own specialization. A student is expected to obtain new knowledge and/or analytical methods through participating in seminars and workshops under the guidance of a professor besides her/his adviser.
A student will regularly provide the progress of her/his research in seminars, followed by questions and answers for her/his presentation, while s/he will participate in workshops for micro economics, econometrics, agricultural economics, farm management and development economics.
These activities would help students improve the scope and quality of a student’s thesis research.
Expected Learning
A student is expected to gain the logic system of social science on agriculture and fundamental knowledge and application which is essential for her/his own research. Also, a student is required to carry out research and communicate the results in professional manners, with due attention to research ethics. Moreover, s/he could acquire a high level of professional competence, wide views, and insightful perspectives for solving problems.

Course schedule
This course consists of two sessions: 1) workshops for micro economics, econometrics, agricultural economics, farm management and development economics; and 2) seminars for the presentation of each student’s research progress, followed by intensive discussions through questions and answers.
Prerequisites
Related to subjects of the thesis, it is a required compulsory subject which is divided into special research A group. Subjects of special study group A open for April enrollment students, enrollees for October should take subjects of special study group B.

Assessment/Grading
Overall evaluation will be made based on the performance of participation in workshops and seminars.
