Course description |
Succeeding Computer Science Seminar I, each student develops his/her original research. Students will present their issues, ideas for solutions, results of experiments and considerations to other students and professors, discuss with them and improve their plans. Students present the progress of their researches at every meeting in their laboratory, monthly meeting for a long time and before external presentations or publishing papers. They must answer questions and comments and often advised for further progress. |
Expected Learning |
Learners who complete this course will be able to understand: - how to develop research - how to high-quality present their work, - how to write papers and patents. Corresponding criteria in the Diploma Policy: See the Curriculum maps (Department of Computer and Information Sciences, diploma policy type B and D). |
Course schedule |
1. Introduction Introduction and lecture schedule. 2. Redesign of a research theme 3. Replanning for research schedule 4.-7. Paper reading Students select papers corresponding to their research themes and present contents of their thesis for other laboratory members and professors. 8.-13. Report for your progress of research Students present the progress of their researches at every meeting in your laboratory. 14. Conclusions Summarize research contents and discuss for future work. 15. Final presentation |
Prerequisites |
This lecture is part of the courses in the department of computer and information science (elective subject). Students spend 30 hours in the class, and they are recommended to spend 30 hours per week researching. |

Assessment/Grading |
Evaluation is made based on the report of research progress(50%), final presentations and master thesis produced by students (50%). |
