Course description
In the doctor course, each student must plan a high-quality and novel theme of research. Students will present their ideas, results of experiments and considerations to other students and professors, discuss with them and improve their ideas.

Students present the progress of their researches at every meeting with your advisor, a monthly meeting for a long time and before external presentations or publishing papers. They must answer questions and comments and often advised for further progress.
Expected Learning
Learners who complete this course will be able to understand:
- improving their research contents,
- creating research projects,
- writing papers and patents.

Course schedule
1. Introduction
Introduction and lecture schedule.

2. Design of research theme

3. Planning for research schedule

4.-7. Paper reading
Students select papers corresponding to their research theme, and present research details for other laboratory members and professors.

8.-13. Report on progress of research
Students present the progress of their researches at every meeting in individual laboratories.

14. Conclusions
Summarize of ideas and discuss for future work.

15. Final presentation
Prerequisites
This lecture is part of the department of electronic and information engineering (compulsory subject). Students should spend 30 hours in the class, and they are recommended to spend 30 hours per week researching.

Assessment/Grading
Evaluation is made based on the progress of the research, presentations (50%), and publications produced by students (50%).
