In this course, students will undergo practicum on presentation and Q&A on their research concept and implementation plan prepared through the "Interdisciplinary Seminar II" course. Collaborative humanities and sciences colloquium to be attended by all 1st year students and faculty members of the Joint Program will be held for students to publicly present and discuss their doctoral dissertation research concept, implementation plan, and internship experience. Also, as necessary, the colloquium will include lectures on research ethics. |

Upon completion of this course, the students will be able to: 1. improve their interdisciplinary creativity and presentation skills. 2. incorporate the knowledge and achievements for each of the phases of "comprehension, analysis, and implementation" that they have gained through the "Interdisciplinary Seminar II" course into their research concept and implementation plans. |

The collaborative humanities and sciences colloquium will be held in an intensive format, where students will report on their doctoral dissertation or internship experience, as well as hold Q&A sessions regarding the report from a broad perspective. Students are expected to incorporate the knowledge and achievements for each of the phases of "comprehension, analysis, and implementation" that they have gained through the "Interdisciplinary Seminar II" course into their research concept and implementation plans. The practicum will be held in two intensive sessions. The first colloquium will be held immediately after the beginning of the new term, and students will report and hold Q&A on their doctoral dissertation research concept. The 2nd colloquium will be held after completing courses in the second semester, and students will present and hold Q&A sessions on their research implementation plan. The following are the fields of specialization of faculty members in the Joint Program: Tokyo University of Foreign Studies (TUFS): Shinichi Takeuchi: Area studies, African studies, international relations, conflict Chikako Nakayama: Global studies, socioeconomics, socioeconomic thought, economic history, economic anthropology Hyoduk Lee: Cultural studies, studies of culture and representation, postcolonialism Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (TUAT): Atsushi Chitose: International agricultural development, agricultural development theory, agricultural economics, income disparity, poverty Yoshiro Nomura: Biological resources functional chemistry, collagen, keratin, functional food Hiroko Katori: Energy science, phase transition phenomena in magnetic materials, localized spin magnetism, itinerant electron magnetism Kazuhiko Misawa: Biomedical engineering, ultrafast photonics, ultrafast time-resolved spectral diffraction, nonlinear optics The University of Electro-Communications (UEC) Kayoko Yamamoto: Social systems engineering, spatial information science, urban and regional planning, GIS big data, environment and disaster prevention Tomonori Hashiyama: Intelligent information science, soft computing, human interface and interactions Hiroshi Yokoi: Measurement/control engineering, power-saving artificial arm, power-saving sensors, cybernetics, clinical applications Yoshiko Okada-Shudo: Optical engineering, optoelectronics, bioelectronics, nanophotonics |

Cooperative research presentation 60% Participation and discussion 40% The reports and Q&A sessions for each student in the two colloquium sessions will be evaluated by all participants. Points will also be given for the level of participation in the practicum, such as through questions given to other students, etc. Granting of credit will be based on the overall results of evaluations. |
