Course description
This lecture summarizes the diversification and evolution of land plants, especially vascular plants, and their morphological diversity and its functions. Practical study to observe the living materials in the botanical garden is included.
Expected Learning
Understanding of the diversification and evolution of land plants, and their morphological diversity with the biological implication. It is expected that the students will improve the ability to observe the plant from the morphological point of view.
Course schedule
Evolution of land plants and their diversification. The morphological diversity of vegetative and reproductive organs and their biological implications. Observation and discussion of plants in the Plant Resources Conservatory in the Tsukuba Botanical Garden.
