Course description
[Purpose] Diversity is crucial for sparking global innovation. It is the ability to mutually accept differences in characteristics like gender, nationality, language, age, and social experience, and leverage those differences as a strength to spark new innovation. The aim of these lectures is to impart a diversity mindset and communication skills that must be mastered in order to be active in global society as an excellent leader.
[Overview] Lectures are given by instructors from domestic and overseas the university regarding efforts to promote diversity at universities, research institutions, and companies, as well as cross-over efforts to address multiple fields. Students also participate in career path seminars held by the TUAT Women's Future Development Organization. The latter half of the class uses active learning. Students decide on a theme pertaining to diversity promotion. Then there are group discussions, and students bring together their ideas while communicating, and make presentations.
Expected Learning
Acquire communication skills based on an appreciation of diversity that is essential for innovative human resources. Competency in this subject: Big-picture thinking, diversity, management, leadership
