Course description |
The purpose of this lecture is to provide the latest knowledge of soil function and nutrient cycling with its theoretical mechanisms. Soil management in the agro-ecosystems is indispensable to sustainable crop production, and it must be based on the appropriate control of nutrient dynamics. Student will learn the various soil function related to soil classification, examples of the nutrient cycles of soil ecosystems. |
Expected Learning |
Students who successfully complete this course will be able to 1. Explain the material cyclical of soil in the field based on the soil functions, 2. Develop the expected soil management for sustainable agriculture by oneself. Corresponding criteria in the Diploma policy: See the curriculum maps. https://www.tuat.ac.jp/campuslife_career/campuslife/policy/ |

Prerequisites |
This is part of the Courses of Agro-Environmental Science, and its completion is recommended for students in the Department of Biological Production. Expected to take the "Soil Science" before. In addition to 30 hours that students spend in the class, students are recommended to prepare for and revise the lectures, spending the standard amount of time as specified by the University and using the lecture handouts as well as the references specified below. |
