Course description
The root system is an essential organ for taking up water and nutrients form ground. In this lecture, I explain that genetic improvement of root system architecture allows us to enhance crop productivity. As an illustration, I introduce gene cloning of root system in rice and its application to genomic-based breeding.
Expected Learning
The standard of this lecture is to understand the physiological functions of root system in crop plants and their genetic improvements.
