Course description |
The root system is an essential organ for taking up water and nutrients form ground. In this lecture, I explain that genetic improvement of root system architecture allows us to enhance crop productivity. As an illustration, I introduce gene cloning of root system in rice and its application to genomic-based breeding. |
Expected Learning |
The standard of this lecture is to understand the physiological functions of root system in crop plants and their genetic improvements. Corresponding criteria in the Diploma Policy: See the Curriculum maps. (URL: https://www.tuat.ac.jp/campuslife?career/campuslife/policy/) |
