Course description |
This course provides students with theory, methods and analysis techniques for ecological study on wildlife in the field involving food analysis, camera trap, and mark-recapture surveys. In addition, students will learn zoonosis and how to handling for wildlife. |
Expected Learning |
Learners who successfully complete this course will be able to: Conducting capture voles with box traps for MRM (Mark-Recapture Methods) in vole Handling small/medium sized mammals and measure body sizes. Observe skull specimens both carnivores and hervivores Camera trapping methods, data analysis and presentation Identify medium-sized carnivores field signs and conducting lab techniques of food habit analysis |

Excise of live capturing for vole Determination of sex for small mammals and measure body size Immobilization and handling techniques for small mammals Identify field signs (feces, footsteps) for carnivores Lab techniques food habit analysis Camera trap setting, data analysis and presentation Apr 19th 12:15-12:45 Guidance, May 22-24th, and May 30th, June 6th Lab/Field lessons at Fuchu campus, and one day excursion to FM Tsukui Station |
