Course description |
Environmental hygiene is a part of public health which consists of basic health science, food hygiene, zoonotic diseases, and environmental hygiene. You will learn various environmental issues including preservation of natural environmentand biodiversity to understand their causes, current situation and countermeasures. |
Expected Learning |
Students are expected to explain the risk to ecosystem caused by the environmental pollution, countermeasures for the environmental pollution, and roles of veterinarians in these field. Students are expected to explain the importance of natural environment and its conservation measures. Students are expected to explain the involvement of water in human health, measures to ensure drinking water safety, and sewage treatments. Students are expected to explain the involvement of air in human health and indexes for air and indoor environment. Students are expected to explain the current situation and countermeasures on the waste problems. Students are expected to explain the history, current situation, and countermeasures on the environmental pollution. Students are expected to explain the outline of global environment issues and their countermeasures. Students are expected to explain the current situation and countermeasures on the environmental contamination with chemicals or radioactive materials. Students are expected to explain the species of hazardous animals, their harm, and countermeasures. |

Attendance status and final exams are evaluated comprehensively. Students with 5 times absence cannot take the examination. Two times tardiness is converted to one absence. Tardiness longer than 30 min is regarded as absence. |
