Course description |
The students learn the basic knowledge of important avian diseases. |
Expected Learning |
The students can explain the basic knowledge of the following matters, including the causes, etiology, pathology, preventions and treatments. 1) Classification and breed of chicken 2) Husbandry and health management 3) Anatomy and physiology 4) Viral diseases; avian Influenza, newcastle disease, Infectious bronchitis, Infectious laryngotracheitis, Marek's disease, avian leukosis, infectious bursal disease, etc. 5) Bacterial diseases; mycoplasmosis, pullorum disease and fowl typhoid, salmonellosis, fowl cholera, colibacillosis, etc. 6) Mycosis; aspergillosis, candidiasis, zygomycosis. 7) Protozoan infection; coccidiosis, leukocytozoonosis, etc. 8) Parasitic diseases; ectoparasitic diseases, helminthic diseases. 9) Non-infectious diseases; Ascites in broiler chickens, tibial dyschondroplasia, spondylolisthesis, deep pectoral myopathy, gout, etc. |
