Lectures on introduction and detailed description of neurological and musculoskeletal diseases in companion animals |
Expected Learning |
To understand the basic issues involved in neurological diseases, to be able to explain about the diseases of nervous system. To be able to explain failures of locomotive organs, in particular bones and joints. To be able to explain the the muscular disease and peripheral nerve disorder. |
Course schedule |
1. basic anatomy and function of the nervous system 2. neurological examination: observation, posture reaction and spinal reflex 3. neurological examination: brain nerve examination 4. approach method and localization of the neurological lesion 5. specific examination to the nervous system, especially cerebrospinal fluid and electrophysiological examination 6. Metabolic encephalopathy and congenital neurological disease 7. epilepsy and encephalitis 8. brain tumor 9. neuro-ophthamology and regulation of urination and summary and mid-term examination 10. intervertebral disc disease and spinal cord disease (1) 11 intervertebral disc disease and spinal cord disease (2) 12. diseases of neuromuscular junction and muscles 13. fracture and dislocation of the bone and joint 14. diseases of forelimb 15 diseases of hindlimb and semester-end examination |
