Course description |
A compulsory course. This practice is compliant with the Veterinary Medicine Core Curriculum. It provides students with experience of radiographic, ultrasonographic, CT, and MRI image acquisition & interpretation based on "veterinary diagnostic imaging class". In addition, the merit & demerit of each imaging device will be learned through images from clinical cases. Lecturers of this course have the firsthand experiences on clinical veterinary medicine. They provide actual techniques of image acquisition and interpretation, which is necessary for clinical practice. |
Expected Learning |
1)To acquire the interpretation skills on basic diseases. 2)To understand the essential qualification of image acquisition for clinical diagnosis. 3)To understand the differences between artifacts and findings. 4)To understand radiation and its impact to human body, and radiation protection methods. 5)To be able to prepare interpretation settings (computers and DICOM viewers) |
Course schedule |
○Students will experience the "clinical" interpretation and actual imaging devices in each 15 course. ○There may be reporting assignments on image findings and x-ray sketches. ○Presentations and discussion will be held on image findings and interpretations. ○The practice which can not be divided into 2-day will be worked out in one day. ○The schedule or contents will be changed by the status of the imaging device. Please ask faculties the schedule in advance. 1st and 2nd course Ultrasonography(Abdominal) 3rd Radiographic Principle 1(Basic interpretation, still object imaging) 4th Radiographic Principle 2(X-ray generator, and imaging doses) 5th Radiographic Principle 3(Contrast techniques) 6th and 7th MRI 8th Ultrasonography(Cardiac) 9th Ultrasonography(locomotory) 10th Radiography of extremity, MRI interpretation 11th Clinical radiography 1(Thoracic imaging anatomy) 12th and 13th Clinical radiography 2(Abdominal imaging anatomy) Clinical radiography 3(Clinical image interpretation) 14th Clinical radiography 4(Clinical image interpretation) 15th Review of courses Final exam |
Prerequisites |
○Longtime practices will be held in several courses which can not be divided into 2-day . In completing this course, students will spend the standard amount of time as specified by the University. ○White coat is required in the animal hospital. ○Be quiet in the animal hospital. ○Personal computer is required in Kishimoto course. Bring one's computer and power cord. ○Anatomical atlas is required. |
