Course description |
Plant nutrition is the study for the mechanisms of nutrient absorption by plants from environments, metabolisms of nutrients in plants to obtain better production. Soil microorganism interacting with plants in nutrient absorption are also included. Originally plant nutrition was developed from fertilizer science. This 2-credit course provides students with what kind of nutrients are essential for plant growth, how plants absorb these nutrients from the environments and how plants assimilate these nutrients into their components which have various physiological functions. |
Expected Learning |
Students who successfully complete this course will be able to understand the mechanisms of nutrient absorption of plants, the physiological functions of nutrients in plants, the roles of soil microbacteria in nutrient transport to plants and fertilizers.
