Course description |
Physical chemistry is classified into two fields. One is microscopic "Molecular Science", adn the other is macroscopic "thermodynamics". In this lecture, theory of chemical thermodynamics is explained at the molecular level. |
Expected Learning |
Purpose is to understand the concepts of pressure, volume, temperature and entropy, and free energies. Corresponding criteria in the Diploma policy: See the curriculum maps. https://www.tuat.ac.jp/campuslife_career/campuslife/policy/ |
Course schedule |
1. What is temperature? What is heat? 2. Ideal gas law 3. Pressure of gas and distribution of speed 4. Various thermodynamic processes 5. Heat capacity and enthalpy 6. Reaction heat and Hess's law 7.
