Course description
Communicating the fun and wonder of nature to the general citizen in an easy-to-understand manner is important for understanding the importance of local nature. In this seminar, you will hold a nature observation workshop on the campus of the Faculty of Agriculture where the semi-natural surroundings remain. The goal is to convey the fun and mystery of nature to the participants of the workshop.
Expected Learning
Students will be able to acquire the skills necessary to hold nature observation workshop, and convey the fun and wonder of nature to participants.
Course schedule
1. Understand the ecology of plants and animals on the campus of the faculty of agriculture through observation. Deepen your understanding of the topics and materials covered in nature observation workshop.
2. Participate to nature observation workshops held by local governments and/or environmental NGOs in various places, and learn from professional interpreters about how to proceed with interpretation of nature.
3. Make a poster for the nature observation workshop and call for participation. Prepare to hold nature observation workshops, such as sharing roles.
4. Hold a nature observation workshop on the campus.
