Course description |
【Purpose】 This course covers static problems of material mechanics and structural mechanics. It is an essential subject in agricultural environmental engineering program to learn the principle for the relation between force and deformation. 【Outline】 Learn mainly about modeling of elements with external force, calculation of internal force, solution of deflection equation. For training calculating skill, home works will be given in each lecture. These problems are chosen to learn the important points in each lecture. |
Expected Learning |
Understanding the deflection equation as a static problem, wearing a solution as a boundary value problem, and solving a design task. Obtain bending moment diagrams, shear force diagrams in that process. |
Course schedule |
1. Introduction 2. Modeling external force 3. stress and strain 4. Balance of force, calculation of support reaction force 5. Bending 1 (bending moment and the principle of shear force) 6. Bending 2 (bending moment diagram, shear force diagram) 7. Bending 3 (Calculation of BMD, SFD in various support forms) 8. Geometrical moment of area, 9. Geometrical moment of inertia 10. Deflection equation 11. Solving the deflection equation 1 12. Solving the deflection equation 2 13. Beam design 14. Design of Beams of uniform strength 15. Exercise |
