Course description
This course deal with cognitive and behavioral psychology. Mind can be regarded as an algorithm for processing information from external and internal environment and making a decision. The goal of the course is to understand basic function of the human mind. First, it introduces the methodology for psychology as an empirical science. Then, it describes how the mind functions in the interactions with external environment, society, and other persons. Some simple experiments are to be conducted to experience psychological phenomena.
Expected Learning
Students will be able to understand what psychology deals with and understand how the mind functions in the interactions with environment and taking action.

Prerequisites
Students need to participate in the class on their own initiative, ask a question, and further examine the question arisen by the lecture.
In addition to 30 hours students spend in the class, students are recommended to prepare for and revise the classes spending the standard amount of time as specified by the University, using the lecture handouts, etc.

Assessment/Grading
Final report in class (100%): Students are assessed whether they understand the topics learned in the class, and further consider their own and others’ behavior in daily life.
