Course description
In many fields of chemical research, it is necessary to identify organic molecules, the molecular structures and the structure-function relationship by using several kinds of analyticaltechniques.
In this class, using several analytical techniques such as mass spectrometry, Infrared spectroscopy, 1H NMR and 13C NMR spectroscopies, you learn the physical principles and how to analyze. Students who successfully complete this class will be able to determine the molecular structures by a combination of these spectroscopic approaches.
Expected Learning
Students who successfully complete this class will be able to understand the principle of the MS, IR, and NMR spectrometers.
Moreover, students are able to learn the molecular identifying method using each spectrometry.
