Course description |
In order to present yourself and your research to the world in a given field, it is important to understand the English requirements for that specified field. This course will provide students with the basics to learn Life Science English and will provide training to further enhance their ability to read and understand scientific papers. |
Expected Learning |
Students are expected to attain basic knowledge and skills in relevance to listening, understanding, and presenting science in English. |
Course schedule |
Using molecular biology as a basis, lectures will be presented in English and students will learn to listen and pick up important vocabulary. In addition they will perform presentations and discussions based on a recent hot topic to further enhance their ability to speak and discuss in English. Finally, exercises will perform in-class to promote their ability to understand scientific papers. |
