Course description |
Ignoring the discreteness of atoms and molecules and regarding the living body as continuous media enable us to understand physical phenomena in the living body such as blood flow and deformation of tissues and cells. The purpose of this course is to learn the basics of “Continuum mechanics” and a technique for capturing the physical phenomena in the living body from a viewpoint of engineering. |
Expected Learning |
Learners who successfully complete this course will be able to: (1) Understand the physical concept and mathematics of continuous media. (2) Understand and explain the physical phenomena in the living body based on the concept of continuum mechanics. Corresponding criteria in the Diploma Policy: See the Curriculum maps. |
Course schedule |
