Course description
Because this lesson is TAT II subject, this lesson is opened for the student of all courses of the department of engineering, but students cannot take this lesson unless "earth science" lesson of 2 units have been acquired in last year.
This class is required for the students who are going to acquire a teacher’s license of the junior high school.
Because it is an experimental lesson, the number of students is limited.
Expected Learning
The aim that a student should achieve
Students understand a method of basic experiment, observation about geology and astronomy and meteorology and can conduct a simple investigation and come to be able to distinguish the phenomenon of the earth science.

first day
8:45-10:15 Introduction and observation of minerals
10:30-12:00 About topographic map
13:00-14:30 and 14:45-16:15 How to make route map
16:30-18:00 Observation of minerals with a stereomicroscope and making mineral specimens
Second day
8:45-10:15 About Geological map
10:30-12:00 About the astronomical telescope
13:00-18:00 Observation of strata in the Tama River
third day
8:45-10:15 Observation of sunspots
10:30-12:00 Measurement of atmospheric pressure
13:00-14:30 Measurement of humidity and clouds
14:45-16:15 Observation of rocks
16:30-18:00 Making of rock specimens 
Prerequisites
In practice in the field, please pay attention to the following points.
Join with easy-to-move shoes and clothes.
Participation in shoes with sandals and heels is prohibited.
Wearing a hat (Hat for keeping off the sun light).
Bringing a towel.

Assessment/Grading
Students are evaluated the contents of the report from degree of the understanding, the action to an experiment, summary, and scholastic evaluation is performed at those synthesis point. The standard mark is more than 60%.
