Course description
It is intended to arouse interest to an application of optical technology to engineering. To this end, this course introduces a natural phenomenon in conjunction with the light scientifically, and aims at the acquirement of the basic knowledge that can understand the principle of the laser and the theory of various optical instruments. Specifically, the study of this course can provide the basic knowledge in conjunction with light and laser in understanding an optical sensor and an optical measurement system in a robotics and various industrial equipment. Also, this course makes them try the understanding of the expanse of this field by introducing an advanced optical technology.
This corresponds to the specialized subject of the vehicle control robotics course.
Expected Learning
1. Understand the fundamental characteristics of light.
2. Understand how optical systems are designed, characterized, and analyzed.
3. Explore the latest technologies in optical engineering including new optical materials and the latest cost effective manufacturing techniques.
