This course introduces basics of databases (database management systems), such as their concepts, designs, and implementation. The database facilitates management of data shared with multiple programs. It provides functionalities that enable us to share, update, and search data efficiently and strictly.

Course schedule |
The lectureres introduce database basics; data models, relational databases, normalization, structured query language (SQL), transaction processing, and NoSQL databases.

Prerequisites |
In addition to 30 hours that students spend in the class, students are recommended to prepare for and revise the lectures, spending the standard amount of time as specified by the University and using the lecture handouts as well as the references specified below.
