Course description
In this class, the lecture provides the advanced plant applied science for crop production and biotechnology associated with crop science and horticultural science.
In crop science, the lecture provides an overview of ecophysiological mechanisms for the increase in crop yield, environmental stress resistance, the effects of climate change on crop production, crop improvements of yield, biomass production and stress resistance in crops for food, feed and bioenergy.
In horticultural science, the lecture reviews the principles and applications of the propagation and breeding by tissue culture and transformation methods in horticulture crops, and also the NBT (New Plant Breeding Techniques) by genome editing and DNA methylation.
Expected Learning
The purpose of this lecture is to provide students with knowledge needed to understand the advanced plant applied science, especially crop science and horticultural science.
