Course description |
Student presents the research results of “Special Research in Agricultural Science” and “Research expansion in Agricultural Science” at an academic conference, and listens to presentations related to his/her research and participates in questions and answers. These processes will make clear the missing parts of the research and improve the quality of master’s thesis. This is a common exercise to acquire basic knowledge in agriculture and related fields. |
Expected Learning |
Students are required to summarize the structure of research (background, purpose, method, result, consideration), create easy-to-understand materials and manuscripts for presentation. Students are expected to be able to answer questions about their presentations and to discuss the others’ presentations. Prerequisites |
To achieve the Pass Criterion, in addition to a presentation and a question and answer session at an academic conference, students need to study for more than 15 hours by self-learning such as preparation of presentation materials and re-examination about contents of question and answer session, based on the standard study time recommended by the university. |

Assessment/Grading |
The supervisor assesses the status of preparation for the conference presentation, the degree of completion of the presentation materials and manuscripts, attitudes in presentation and question-and-answer sessions, and participation in hearing and question-and-answer sessions on others' presentations. |

Remarks 1 |
Credit is certified for a presentation at national conferences by collaborating academic societies of the Science Council of Japan, conferences held by international organizations, or conventions and workshops certified by the Course or Program to which the student belongs. Small meetings and seminars are excluded. Credit is approved only when the student oneself makes a presentation, regardless of whether it is a single name or joint names. The venue of a conference (domestic or foreign), the language used (Japanese or English), and the presentation style (poster or oral) do not matter. |
Remarks 2 |
Course registration will be accepted at any time up to the prescribed date and notification form by the academic affairs department, regardless of the course registration period. However, the final year students must submit it by the end of January of the final year. One credit is accredited during the term of study.
