Course description |
Outline Aims: Students will learn the theory and research methods for ecosystem conservation based on vegetation science, biodiversity conservation, landscape ecology, and hydrosphere ecology. Outline: YOSHIKAWA class This course offers lectures and practical exercises to learn the importance of semi-natural vegetation and the technique of vegetation management. IWAI class Lectures and practical exercises of mathematical biology. Students are required to well prepare for the class by working on end-of-chapter exercises. |
Expected Learning |
Students are required to gain knowledge of vegetation science, biodiversity conservation, landscape ecology, and hydrosphere ecology. And you need to gain ability to apply it to actual conservation planning. Corresponding criteria in the Diploma policy: See the curriculum maps. http://www.tuat.ac.jp/campuslife_career/campuslife/policy/ |

Characteristics of farm forest vegetation (Lecture) 5. Vegetation management of farm forest (Field experiment) 6. Vegetation management of farm forest (Field experiment) 7. Vegetation management planning for farm forests (Lecture) IWAI class 1. Introduction. Chapter 1. Dynamics of one-species population. 2-8. Lecture and exercises of one or two chapters. |
Prerequisites |
This lecture is an elective subject, and is one of the specialized subjects. The students are required to have basic knowledge of ecology, vegetation science, biodiversity conservation, and landscape ecology. Students need to preview and review for an amount of time as indicated in the student guidelines of TUAT, in addition to the attendance of lecture (30 ours). |
