Course description
This course will contribute to cultivation of students’ ability to conduct research and development on their own initiative and is recommended to be registered at the 2nd year of Master course. The aim of this course is to cultivate ways of logical and creative thinking in applied chemistry and materials science to become a researcher with deep knowledge in the own specialized fields as well as wide perspective.
Investigation, introduction about issues related to the research area of students are carried out with advisers for smooth advance of their master course research.
Expected Learning
The standard of this course is to improve the abilities for experimental techniques and analysis necessary for master course research, to interpret results based on logical and creative thinking, and to give presentations and discussions with advisers and laboratory members.

Course schedule
For becoming a researcher or engineer with wide perspective in the field of applied chemistry, literature investigation of the master course research subject is carried out and students are required to promote their own research with thorough discussion with advisers on their results. It is desirable to present their results at a conference and to intensely discuss with others for cultivation of logical and creative thought.
Prerequisites
This course is not a compulsory subject, but the registration is recommended.
In completing this course, students will spend at least the standard amount of time as specified by the
University following the adviser's guidance.

Evaluation will be on the basis of students' literature investigation and daily discussion with advisers in the laboratory.
