Course description |
Universities, as well as enterprises and governments, play an important role in innovation. This course provides students with an overview of research managers and administrators who support research at universities and public research institutes. Research managers and administrators are highly specialized professionals who perform a wide range of activities such as planning, management, and utilization of research activities. Students will learn the basic knowledge of research management for enterprises as well as universities. In addition, they will acquire the ability to draw scenarios to find problems and solve them through interactive lectures and group exercises. The lecturer of this course has the firsthand experiences on technology management. |
Expected Learning |
Learners who successfully complete this course will be able to: ・Describe the roles, purpose, and history of research administrators ・Recognize the basic knowledge of a series of research administration and management ・Carry through the solution of research administration and management Corresponding criteria in the Diploma Policy: See the Curriculum maps. |

Prerequisites |
In addition to 30 hours that students spend in the class, students are required to prepare for and revise the classes spending the standard amount of time as specified by the University. |

Assessment/Grading |
The grade evaluation in this online class is premised on all attendance. The instructor comprehensively evaluates the attitude to learn, online tests, and reports. The standard study time set by our university is required to get the grade. The rate of evaluation is as follows: the online test and contribution to the lecture: 40% and assignment test: 60%. The grade will be given according to the following criteria by a comprehensive evaluation (perfect score: 100 points). S: 90 points or more, A: 80 or more and less than 90 points, B: 70 or more and less than 80 points, C: 60 or more and less than 70 points, D (fail): less than 60 points. |
