Course description
This course will contribute to acquiring wide and advanced expertise as well as to cultivating students’ creativity and ability to solve problems based on the expertise. The lectures are carried out by introducing research subjects related to materials science and technology in electrical energy storage devices. It is important for students to reflect the obtained knowledge on their studies.
Expected Learning
The standard of the course is to understand cutting-edge research subjects in various fields in chemistry and materials.
Corresponding criteria in the Diploma Policy: See the Curriculum maps.
Course schedule
Opened five times as intensive lectures. 3 lectures each, giving a total of 15 lectures. This section introduces the research contents from the basics to the most advanced in each field related to chemistry and materials science. Submission of a report in each lecture is required.

Lecturers will be announced at the early October
Scheduled themes of this lecture are set as following;
1.General view of electrochemical energy storage (EES) devices for next-generation researchers/engineers.
2.Recent R&D topics on electrochemical capacitors.
3.Application development of electrochemical capacitors.
4.Crystallographic analysis on electrochemical lithium intercalation materials.
5.Intercalated metal-organic frameworks (iMOF) as an anode material for EES devices.
Prerequisites
In addition to 30 hours that students spend in the class, students are recommended to prepare for and review the lectures, spending the standard amount of time as specified by the university and using the lecture handouts as well as the references introduced in each lecture.
Required Text(s) and Materials
Textbooks will be indicated if they are needed.
