Course description
Polymers change their properties from elastic materials to viscous fluids with observation time-scale. The characteristic dynamics can be observed as a relaxation phenomenon. The understanding of the relaxation can be applied for various systems including mechanical and electrical properties. Goal of this class is to understand the relaxation of mechanical and electrical properties of polymer from the viewpoint of dynamics.
Expected Learning
You will be able to explain the elastic deformation and viscous fluid.
You will be able to explain the mechanical relaxation model.
You will be able to explain the linear response theory.
