Course description
a. Synthetic chemistry, reactions, and related compounds related to aromatic high-performance polymer materials learned in Organic Chemistry-related subjects offered in the undergraduate course of Department of Organic and Polymer Materials Chemistry and Organic Materials Analysis Advanced Course I offered in graduate course of Organic and Polymer Materials Chemistry Based on the concept of the spatial structure-reactivity relationship of scientists, the chemistry of aromatic high-performance organic materials will be comprehensively verified based on the molecular spatial structure as an insulator.
b. An integrated, bird's-eye view of the chemical behavior and physical properties of organic materials, which are the main constituents of organic materials, using an understanding of the molecular spatial structure, and the contents of related reports in journals Aims to acquire the level of ability to deeply read and understand, and make proposals for development.
Expected Learning
Of organic reactions and physical properties in the field of organic material chemistry.
・ Understanding the principles and limitations of molecular space structure analysis methods
・ Evaluation of analysis results of molecular spatial structure and interpretation from the viewpoint of molecular orbital method ((Perspective of the organic reaction operator)
・ Understanding the correlation between molecular spatial structure and organic reactivity (perspective of the person who conducted organic reactions)
・ Understanding of the relationship between molecular spatial structure and basic physical properties (position to synthesize organic molecules constituting organic materials)
Advanced comprehensive professional ability acquisition. See the Diploma Policy Perspective: Course Information for this course.
Course schedule
Basically, related study papers will be used, and case study learning will be carried out using the materials read by the students and prepared for presentation. Students are scheduled to read and prepare (prepare) about 10 papers throughout the class.
1st class policy and explanation of how to proceed (when there are a lot of students, sharing date is set)
2nd-12th student presentations and discussion based on them
Approx. 15 minutes per person, 5-6 people each time
13th-15th Conclusive lecture
16th Final examination
Prerequisites
With a sufficient understanding of organic reactions and organic molecular structure analysis, the basic aspects of organic chemistry related courses in the course of organic chemistry courses offered in the Master's Program of Organic Materials Chemistry and Organic Materials Chemistry The level of physics and organic chemistry can be discussed manually even if there is no explanation from ”, and at the physical and organic chemistry aspect, the relationship between the molecular orbital method and various properties of organic molecules is acquired more than“ understands if explained ”. about. As we often touch inorganic chemistry such as gas molecule kinetic theory, thermodynamics, statistical mechanics, physicochemical items such as quantum chemistry, orbital understanding of the properties of various elements (especially properties and reactions of transition metal complexes), It is desirable to have “immunity”.
Required Text(s) and Materials
Journal articles are used as teaching materials
References
Organic chemistry textbooks by Vollhardt & Schore, Pine, etc.
Preferred textbook for inorganic chemistry by Shriver & Atkins
Physical chemistry textbook by Atkins etc.
Preferred textbook for chemical bonding theory by Pimentel
Assessment/Grading
Assess by final test. The condition of grade evaluation is that the number of presentations set at the first class is satisfied.
Message from instructor(s)
Let's study organic reaction chemistry, organic structural chemistry, and basic physical properties of organic materials from the basics as well as multifaceted and integrated.
Perhaps something that was difficult to understand so far can be understood so that the string can be unwound.
Course keywords
Fundamentals and development of organic material chemistry; especially molecular material organic chemistry; organic structural chemistry; organic reaction chemistry; Polymer synthesis chemistry
