Course description
This course will contribute to cultivation of students’ ability to conduct research and development on their own initiative and is recommended to be registered at the 1st year of Doctor course. After three years at undergraduate and master courses, students are considered to obtain basic ability for performing research. However, there are still things to be acquired for obtaining the PhD degree and continuing research. The aim of this lecture is to obtain ability as an independent chemist by blush up their own previous experience.
This course is performed fundamentally in a seminar style to cultivate skills necessary for development of the own research in the doctoral course under the guidance of the adviser .
Expected Learning
The standard of the course is to improve or enhance experimental techniques as well as analytic ability of students through development of their own research during the early stage of the doctoral course.

Course schedule
At each laboratory, students are required to acquire the following skills through their own research.

1) methods for attainment of the purpose of their own research
2) development of their own research by interpretation and discussion of results obtained
3) presentation technique for ready understanding of attendance by summarizing results
4) preparation of reports and articles in English
5) communication ability required for presentation at domestic as well as international conference
Prerequisites
This course is a compulsory subject.
In completing this course, students will spend at least the standard amount of time as specified by the
University following the adviser's guidance.

Assessment/Grading
Evaluation will be comprehensively done on the basis of usual attitude of students at the each laboratory as well as total presentation skills at seminars.
