Course description
The collaborative humanities and sciences colloquium will be held in an intensive format, where students will report on the progress of their doctoral dissertation (including research results) and internship experience, as well as hold Q&A sessions regarding the report from a broad perspective.
Students will undergo practicum on presentation and Q&A on the progress of their research through the “Interdisciplinary Seminar IV” course.
The reporting and Q&A on the progress of their research will also serve as interim reporting and examination for their doctoral dissertation. Also, as necessary, the colloquium will include lectures on research ethics.
Expected Learning
Upon completion of this course, the students will be able to:
1. improve their interdisciplinary creativity and presentation skills.
2. incorporate the knowledge and achievements for each of the phases of "comprehension, analysis, and implementation" that they have gained through the "Interdisciplinary Seminar IV" course into their research concept and implementation plans.
Course schedule
The practicum will be held in two intensive sessions. The first colloquium will be held immediately after the beginning of the new term, and students will report and hold Q&A on the progress of their doctoral dissertation (including research results) and future plans. The 2nd colloquium will be held after completing courses in the second semester, and students will present and hold Q&A sessions regarding their doctoral dissertation. The 1st colloquium will also serve as interim reporting and examination for their doctoral dissertation, while the 2nd colloquium as a supplementary examination session of the 1st colloquium.
Prerequisites
Students are expected to incorporate the knowledge and achievements for each of the phases of “comprehension, analysis, and implementation” that they have gained through the “Interdisciplinary Seminar IV” course into the progress of their research.
