Course description |
This course will address about some applications of tissue optics to the non-destractive measurements and non-invasive spectral imaging of in vivo biological tissues. It also provides students with the cutting-edges of biomedical optics and photonics. This course corresponds to the specialized fundamental courses of the curriculum of the Department of Bio-Functions and Systems Science. |
Expected Learning |
Learners who successfully complete this course will be able to understand the fundamentals and applications of measuring techniques, analyses, and evaluations of light-tissue interactions as well as the applications of spectroscopy to the optical measurements and imaging of in vivo biological tissues. Corresponding criteria in the Diploma Policy: See the Curriculum maps. |
Course schedule |
1. Monte Carlo simulation for light transport in tissue I 2. Monte Carlo simulation for light transport in tissue II 3. Optical biopsy with spectroscopy and analysis for bio-chemical 4. Diffuse reflectance spectroscopy 5. Diffuse optical imaging 6. Spectral imaging for in vivo tissues 7. High-resolution imaging and optical treatment 8. Summary |
