Course description
In the first two years of the study program of the Food and Energy Department, students should attempt to muster variety of techniques and stance to see things from diversified standpoints through studying in three different laboratories as research rotation A, B and C. In the research rotation B and C, students study about their second and third subjects to muster variety of techniques and stance to see things from diversified standpoints.
Expected Learning
Students are required to understand scientific logic system on agricultural science and have fundamental knowledge and application which is essential for exploring the subjects, and master the ability to develop them horizontally. With respect to the research ethics, students will compile and publish the research results and investigation by themselves. Also, with high level of professional competence, students will have wide view insightful perspective on social issues.

Course schedule

Exchange information and consult about the relevance to thesis research and confirm the research concept with the supervisor. Also check the points for carrying out experiments safely.

Study on each research theme under the guidance of a supervising teacher different from the main supervisor. Confirmation of research concepts and plans with the supervisor, information sharing and receiving advice. Through discussions with the supervisor, students will learn how to proceed autonomously.

Analyze and interpret the results obtained from each experiment referring to the previous researches, and discuss to develop into new research. Discuss methods of presenting the novelty of the research to others and the applicability of research through preparing work for papers and presentations.

Perform final examination by presentation and question and answer.

Assessment/Grading
Stance of trial and error, knowledge and technologies acquired, and experiences of making presentation in the academic meeting and submitting to scientific journal will be evaluated.
