Course description
Learn about soil productivity classification and understand various soil characteristics through soil classification.
This course is designed to acquire advanced expertise in the field of biological production by learning the latest knowledge and technology in agriculture.
Lectures on soil productivity potential classification, and within small groups, conducts soil survey and classification as active learning.
Expected Learning
A simple soil survey will be possible.
Basic soil classification will be possible.
Be able to consider soil productivity.

Course schedule
Lecture on “Soil Potential Productivity Classification”
Conduct a soil survey of Andisols in a nursery at TUAT. (Active learning)
Classification by Soil Taxnomy. (Active learning)
Prerequisites
For preparation, read the textbook “Illustrated guide to soil taxonomy.” (5 hours)
For review and make the reports, read and use the reference book “Soil taxonomy.” (10 hours)

Class participation attitude 50%: Evaluate the attendance, and contribution to group activities (soil survey, soil classification).
Submitted issues 50%: Explain the issues related to soil survey and classification, and evaluate whether soil productivity can be verified.
