『Animal morphology leads to all fields of animal production science』
Morphology, including anatomy and histology, is one of the most significant scientific fields in animal production science, because it can relate to many other animal science fields. Some of the previous great scientific results, even if these seemed to have little relation to the morphological fields, were led by the findings in the morphological fields. In this lecture, some of these previous episodes will be introduced. Then, this lecture will give students the opportunities to consider the relations between the morphology and their own research for the doctoral thesis.
・There is a possibility of changing to online lectures.
Expected Learning
? Each student will be familiar with the morphology of animals, especially in the respective subjected species.
? Each student will be familiar with the morphology of the system, organ and tissues of their own research subject, and will be able to explain the relationship between the morphology and function.
Course schedule
1. Review for the animal morphology (History, bones, muscles and nervous system).
2. Introduction of the methods in the animal morphology (e.g. immunohistochemistry).
3. Introduction of the previous scientific results that were led by the morphological findings.
Prerequisites
Required Text(s) and Materials
Documents will be provided at the beginning of the Lecture.
References
Documents will be provided at the beginning of the Lecture.
Assessment/Grading
Evaluate some of the issues that are imposed on the day.
Message from instructor(s)
Some of the amazing previous scientific results were led from the findings in other scientific field, that seemed to have little relation at the first time. Even if your research for the doctoral thesis seems to have little relation to the morphological fields, you may find some useful hints by attending this lecture.
Course keywords
