Seminar room B, 2F Kobushi building, College of Agriculture, Ibaraki University “Brain function and nutrition” The lecture will focus on the relation between brain function and nutrition, especially the topics about stress and food functions. Recently, many countries including Japan have social and health problems related to aging and psychosocial stress. Unfortunately, the effective drug treatments for dementia and depression are limited, therefore these brain-oriented diseases should be prevented with our lifestyles including daily diets. This lecture will provide firstly the basic backgrounds of brain structures and functions to understand “the stress and nutrition”. |

Grades will be evaluated by the report given after the class. ? Understanding the basics of brain structure and function. ? Understanding the effects of stress on the brain and behavior. ? Understanding the effects of nutritional factors on brain function. Refer to the curriculum map of the course guide. |
