“Climate change and forests/wood products”
This course will clarify the role of forests and wood products in climate change issues. We will understand the carbon cycle of forests and wood products and discuss the current situation of and issues associated with woody biomass energy. There will also be an outdoor lecture to observe how woody biomass energy from a field is used in Tokyo.

An understanding of the carbon cycle of forests and wood products.

In the morning, there will be a classroom lecture. In the afternoon, we will participate in a field trip and observe how woody biomass energy from a field is used at Oi Central Seaside Park in Ota-ku, Tokyo. You will need to prepare the field activity items and pay the train and bus fares.
