Course description |
[Objectives] Plants related to agriculture, forestry and environmental conservation need to be protected from pathogens, pests, weeds, weather disasters, harmful substances, etc. and cultivated healthy. To that end, not only safety for the human body but also control and management technologies that do not impair the diversity of ecosystems and biodiversity must be established and applied. In this lecture, we will outline the basic concept of plant protection and administration, control and management techniques of plant pathogenic microorganisms, pests, weeds, etc., pesticides and biocontrol agents used there, and new technologies. This lecture is a class by teachers with practical experience. Dr. Takagi has the practical experience of the Food Safety Commission, etc., Arie has the academic experience committee for the application of the first-class use regulations for genetically modified organisms, etc. To educate people about the importance of plant protection and the importance of science communication in society. |

Schedule of 2021 will be announced around August 2021) October 5 (Fri) Masahiro Natsume (until 16:30) ・ Masahiro Natsume: (1) Introduction to plant protection, (2) Chemical control II-Consider plant protection from both chemical and biological perspectives-For chemical control, outline the history, origin, mechanism of action and selectivity of pesticides, and the merit of pesticides. October 12 (Fri) Kawaide Takahiro and Kasahara Hiroyuki (until 17:15) ・ Kuide Kawade: A study of plant protection by regulating hormones and antibiotics produced by plants themselves.
