Course description
The purpose of the Wood Chemistry for Natural Resource Science is to study chemical properties of the components constructing the wood for understanding the tecniuque to efficiently utilize biomass. Therefore, it is a required subject for students learning wood and forest science.

Wood biomass is the most abundant biological resources. The lecture mainly focuses on the chemistry of cellulose, hemicellulose, lignin and extractives in terms of their structure, reaction and biosynthesis.
Expected Learning
Through the lecture, students are expected to acquire the deep knowledge of the structure and chemistry of cellulose, hemicellulose, lignin and extractives.
