Course description |
Aim: The aims of this course are to understand scientifically and comprehensively the conditions of a forest ecosystem that consists of living parts (i.e. trees, mammals, insects, microorganisms etc.), non-living parts (environmental factors), and their interactions. Summary: This course provides the topics of 1) the concept and characteristics of forest ecosystems, 2) material production and nutrient cycling, 3) living organisms that constitute forest ecosystems, and 4) the interactions between the biotic and abiotic factors in the systems, and thus resulting in developing a better judge of forest ecosystems. |
Expected Learning |
Criterion for achievement: To obtain the basic knowledge for sound growth of forests and for evaluation of soundness of them, by understanding the rules of forest ecosystems. Corresponding criteria in the Diploma Policy: See the Curriculum maps. (URL: https://www.tuat.ac.jp/campuslife_career/campuslife/policy/ ) |
