Exercises in hydraulics and ecohydraulics using programming
Expected Learning
Students are expected to learn:
-basics of the hydraulics such as uniform and non-uniform flow calculations
-basics of instream physical habitat assessment for aquatic species

Course schedule
Students will study how to solve the following exercises using programming language. Laptop PC is needed to perform numerical computations in the lecture.

-Hydrostatic pressure acting on the plane
-Hydrostatic pressure acting on the curved surface
-Uniform flow calculation of open channel
-Hydraulic calculation of pipeline
-Flow calculation of the double cross waterways
-Drainage time
-Single pipeline
-Branching and merging pipeline
-Hydraulic radius of common rivers
-Critical depth and uniform flow depth
-Calculation of water surface profile
-Unsteady flow calculation of pipeline
-Unsteady flow simulation for instream habitat assessment
-instream habitat assessment based on physical habitat conditions
-instream habitat simulation in a reach of a river or an irrigation channel
Prerequisites
In addition to 30 hours of lecture time, students will learn lecture materials, international journal publications, reports issued by international organizations, and reference books to conduct self-learning before and after the class.
