Course description
This course is the principal of agricultural engineering. Postharvest technologies, heat transfer and image processing are explained with current problems and challenges in several advanced cases.
Expected Learning
To understand postharvest technologies for bio-production for value-added agriculture.

1) Outlines of postharvest technologies and facilities
2) Theory and technologies of heat utilization
3) Precooling facilities and cold chain for vegetables
4) Drying and storing facilities for cereal grains
5) Image processing technologies (*)
6) Selecting and packaging facilities (*)
7) Case studies on postharvest facilities (*)
8) Recycling technologies for food waste. Examination and review
(*) Marked contents will be given in a study excursion.
Prerequisites
Students are recommended to spend the standard amount of time as specified by the University
