Course description
As a required subject in the curriculum of applied physics, this lecture provides solid state physics, semiconductor physics, semiconductor devices, operational amplifiers with feedback theory. Based on them, we will study some electronic circuits.

Expected Learning
Students are expected to understand the basic concepts of solid state physics, semiconductor physics, semiconductor devices and operational amplifiers, and apply those knowledges to some practical electronic circuits.

Course schedule
Week 1: Linear and Nonlinear electric elements, Review of linear electric circuits
Week 2: Introduction of semiconductors (properties and devices)
Week 3: Solid state physics (band structures)
Week 4: Basic of semiconductors (structures, intrinsic and impurity semiconductors)
Week 5: Electric conduction (drift and diffusion current)
Week 6: pn junction
Week 7: Diodes (operation principle)
Week 8-9: Transistors (operation principle)
Week 10: Operational amplifiers (operation principle, feedback theory)
Week 11-12: Analog electronic circuits (rectifiers, amplifiers, and oscillators)
Week 13-14: Operational amplifier circuits (inverting, and non-inverting amplifiers and differentiating and integrator circuits)
Week 15: Summary
